I started having connectivity issues from the client software to the server (ver. 2.5.5 on Windows Server 2003). It would time out after 100 seconds. I tested this from several locations to make sure it wasn't my local computer or network. I figured I'd restart the server and this would all clear up. I was wrong. It seemed there was no server to connect to after the restart, at least that was the error I got.
I didn't have any important messages or anything saved so I figured I would just uninstall and reinstall clean. That took a while to figure out. First time I ran through the process and tried to log back in, my user name and password was incorrect. Both the default and the one I setup in the previous install. So, I went through and uninstalled again, this time removing the MSSQL Desktop App along with everything else.
So, now when I install, the database question pops up which I leave at default and when it finishes I get the following error:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
I tried the install several times, trying to see if there was something I could do with the SQL Server Manager, to no avail.
My last attempt was to just go and install my original Sightmax 1 software, since it worked so well before. Same error pops up.
So, what happened? Did Microsoft make some change to MSSQL to restrict access which affected the program, or what? Please help as I really hate these late nights.
